What Is Wheel Balancing?
Improperly Balanced Wheels Reduce Road Holding.

Also increasing wear of shock absorbers, struts, suspension, and chassis components. Annoying steering wheel and seat vibration appears from nowhere and fuel consumption goes up. Can you remember how comfortable and quiet your can was when it was new? That was because the wheels were balanced professionally using top quality balancers and Haweka adapters. Let us explain why we use Haweka adapters and what they actually mean to you, The car owner.

Most tyre retailers own at least one wheel balancer, which was originally supplied with a set of cones to mount the wheel. However the only correct way to mount a wheel on a wheel balancer that will provide a perfectly accurate result, first time, every time, is to mount the wheel in exactly the same way that it is mounted on your vehicle i.e. a mirror image, There are only two ways this can be done, Either hub or stud mounted. By hub mounted we mean that the vehicle has a round cylindrical hub. The centre hole of the rim sits onto this hub and all the wheel nuts do are ensure the wheel is firmly attached to the hub.

Most passenger cars are hub mounted whereas nearly all off road
vehicles are stud  mounted i.e. via the wheel nuts. when a off-road wheel is fitted to the vehicle it does not sit on the protruding hub but has to be lifted up slightly to enable the wheel nuts to be located directly into the hub. Since in this case we take no direct reference from the center hole of the rim, it does not matter if the center hole is accurate which in most cases it is not!
